TwelveOne Student Ministries of First Baptist Church is deeply committed to a Word-centered approach to ministry where we give each student that we come in contact with a genuine opportunity not only to interact with the truth from God’s Word, but also to work out those truths in a practical way through a discipleship relationship with a more mature Christian. Rather than seeking only to entertain students our desire is to empower them with the truth from God’s word as they move in their walk with Christ from belief to conviction. Our core verse is Romans 12:1-2 which states:
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
From this verse flow our four “be” statements that we are encouraging every student to:
1) Be what you believe
2) Be different
3) Be Holy
4) Be discerning
We are seeking to engage students with the truth from God’s word every time we are in contact with them. Our true desire is to come alongside Godly families and help students grow in their knowledge, and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as they move deeper in relationship with him.
