Children’s Ministries

Our goal in children’s ministry is to help children of all ages build their lives on the rock of God’s Word.  From as young as two years old, we teach the Bible to children, book-by-book, in an age appropriate way.  For children of Christian parents, we desire to come alongside parents and help them disciple their children.  For all children, we desire to create a warm, safe, nurturing environment where they can learn the wonderful truths of the gospel and grow in their love and devotion to Christ.  Here are a few of the things we offer:

Nursery

We want our youngest to sense the love of Christ when they come to church.  We offer nursery for children up to four years old during all our regular church services.  Children will be greeted by loving workers and welcomed into a classroom that is designed for their age and developmental stage.  We have a secure nursery wing and check-in system, and our workers are church members who have been trained and screened to insure your child’s safety.  We believe that no child is too young to begin learning about Jesus.  From the songs and prayers we shower over our infants to the Bible lessons we teach, we are pointing our children to Jesus.

Children’s Worship

We encourage families to worship together during corporate worship times, and we offer parents resources to help them prepare their child for those services.  But we also provide Children’s Worship during both Worship Services for children that might not be ready to join their parents in the worship service.  The children sing Scripture songs, learn a lesson from the same passage being studied in “big church,” and enjoy some fun activities.  The goal of our Children’s Worship is to prepare children to be life-long participants in the worship services of a healthy church.

Children’s Sunday School

Our goal is to teach our children the whole Bible, helping them understand the gospel from Genesis to Revelation.  We use the Generations of Grace Sunday School curriculum (www.generationsofgrace.com) because it is a biblically based and God-centered, covering the Old Testament historical books, the life of Christ, and lessons from Acts and Revelation.  We do this in engaging, age-appropriate ways all taught by loving, Christ-centered teachers.

Awana

Our church places a high value on helping children memorize Scripture.  The AWANA programs (www.awana.org) offer a fun, engaging way for children ages 3 to 6th grade to learn to “rightly handle God’s truth.”  Our AWANA programs meet from 5:30 to 7:30 on Sunday nights during the school year.

Upward Basketball

God has provided our church with a beautiful gymnasium.  Each year in January and February, we host an UPWARD Basketball league (www.upward.org) for the children (grades 1 through 6) in Lindale.  The point of this league is to reach children in our community with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ. Basketball is simply a tool that helps us reach out to them.  Our coaches teach a Bible-based devotional at each practice, and our games include a clear gospel message at halftime.

Kingdom Kids Preschool

We are strong advocates for parents being the primary caretakers for their children.  We seek to come alongside busy moms and give them break twice a week, while allowing their children to grow socially in a Christ-centered environment.  The preschool meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm and is open to anyone.

Seasonal Activities

Throughout the year, we offer several additional activities for children, including Vacation Bible School, Fall Festival, Summer Camps, and much more.  These events are fun ways to stay connected with the church body and to encorage your children to grow in Christ.
